West Tisbury

West Tisbury is one of the three "up-island" towns. Located on the western side of the island overlooking the Vineyard Sound, it has all the characteristics of a typical New England town with lots of charm.
There are many wide open spaces, beautiful views and sunsets, and lots of small town activities happening throughout the town such as the weekly Farmer's Market, the famous Agricultural Fair in August, and lots of other activities held at the Grange Hall and elsewhere throughout the year.
There are two "busy" parts of town. The area around the Town Hall bustles with activity at the Grange Hall (aka the "Old Ag Hall"), the great playground for kids behind the town hall, Alley's General Store, and the library across the street. The famous West Tisbury Farmer's Market is located at the Grange Hall on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. If you go down State Road a bit, you'll find another bustling site at the West Tisbury Post Office, where people pick up their mail, along with a bite to eat at Biga, their groceries at Cronig's and a walk over to Conroy's Apothecary.
There are two exceptional beaches accessible to West Tisbury residents - Lambert's Cove Beach (great sunsets!), and Long Point Beach. There are also some wonderful exercise opportunities such as hiking at Cedar Tree Neck Nature Preserve or Sepiessa Point, or biking, rollerblading, jogging or walking the bike path through the State Forest.
